Recycle Your Trash at BWE

BWE has environmental fundraising programs which help bring the importance of recycling and the environment to the forefront, while allowing the school to earn money. Through Terracycle, we are recycling empty glue sticks, Scotch tape dispensers and cores, old cell phones, flip flops, dairy containers, and candy wrappers. We are collecting plastic bags for Robious Middle School. We also collect toner cartridges and inkjets for Heart Beat Inc.

So please remember to collect these items at home. Then send them in during our Recycling Roundups in November, February and April.

Some items can be sent in on a regular basis because we have collection boxes in the school at all times. The toner cartridges and inkjets are collected in the library. The glue sticks, tape dispensers and tape cores are collected in the Art Room. We have a cardboard collection bin in the main hallway of the school for the plastic bags.

More Details About Items we collect:

• Dairy Containers - #5 plastics like sour cream, yogurt and cream cheese containers are not accepted in Chesterfield County's recycling program. Please clean and collect them at home and send them in for our recycling roundups.

• Plastic Bags - from grocery stores, dry cleaning bags, overwrap like the stuff around paper towels or toilet paper. Plastic that has been on food is NOT okay to collect and recycle. We are helping Robious Middle School collect these for their TREX plastic bag collection program.

• Dental - old toothbrushes, empty dental floss containers, and even toothpaste tubes (please clean outside) can be sent in for the recycling roundups.
